Unfurling Together

Group supervision that offers connection, curiosity, and steadiness — supporting your growth as a therapist and your wellbeing as a human doing this work.

Why Groups?

Group supervision offers more than hours toward licensure. In community, we can slow down, learn from one another, and feel witnessed in the work. These groups create a consistent, supportive space to think deeply about your clients, your practice, and yourself — all within a framework of anti-oppression, fat liberation, and disability justice.

In my groups, you’ll experience:

  • thoughtful reflection on clinical work

  • relief from the isolation of private practice

  • gentle accountability exploring power, privilege, and growth

  • permission to be imperfect

  • a space to rest amid collective struggle

  • and moments of laughter and levity — because connection, humor, and shared humanity are part of what keep us grounded in this work

Who This Space Is For

These groups may be a good fit if you:

  • want to supplement individual supervision with peer reflection and shared learning,

  • seek community and connection with fellow therapists,

  • are willing to explore how your social location, identities, and power show up in your clinical work,

  • value being held as both a clinician and a human, not just a therapist in the room.

About the facilitator

Hi! I’m Laurie Gutierrez Ganberg (she/they), a white, mid-fat, queer, neurodivergent, nonbinary therapist, supervisor, consultant and educator with nearly two decades of clinical experience. And I’m a Washington state approved supervisor. I am deeply committed to anti-oppression, fat liberation, and disability justice, both personally and professionally.
I love facilitating groups. I hold space for reflection, mutual support, and accountability — as we examine the systems that shape our work and ourselves. You’re invited whether you’re navigating fat-phobia in the therapy room, questioning business practices, or seeking community in a sometimes isolating field.

FAQs

Are you an approved supervisor?

Yes, I have met all the requirements of WAC 246-809-334 and qualify as an approved supervisor. I’ve been licensed in Washington state as an LICSW since 2016 and was previously licensed as an LICSW in Massachusetts since 2008. I’ve had training and experience in supervision since 2008.

What’s the cancellation policy?

You may cancel up to one week before the first session for a full refund. If enrollment is too low, I reserve the right to cancel up to 48 hours before the start; if I do, you’ll receive a full refund.

What if I miss a session?

The anti-oppression supervision group is a closed-cohort: you’re asked to commit to the full 8-weeks. You’ll receive supervision hours for sessions you attend; the fee remains the same.

Will I get supervision hours for attending groups?

In Washington, only LSWAICs and LMFTAs are able to count group supervision hours toward their total number of required supervision hours. LMHCAs are able to count these groups toward their post-graduate hours of experience, but need 1:1 or 2:1 supervision. After the group session ends, I will give you a completed DOH Supervised Postgraduate Experience form.

Do I have to be an associate to attend?

If you are looking for supervision hours, you must be a Washington state licensed associate. However, if you are looking for clinical consultation and community and do not need the approved supervision hours, you are welcome to join us!

Is this limited to Washington state?

No! All groups are offered via Zoom. If you need supervised hours for a Washington license you must hold a Washington associate license, but you do not need to physically be in Washington to attend the groups. If you are looking for clinical consultation and community you can join from anywhere!
