Full Presence:
A Monthly Group for Fat Therapists

A facilitated, restorative space for connection, reflection, and community care.

About the Group

Full Presence is a monthly group for fat therapists to come together in reflection, rest, and connection. It’s a facilitated 1.5 hours together and a place to bring what’s alive in your practice and your body, to be present alongside others who share a commitment to fat liberation, embodiment, and care.

We make room for complexity, joy, tenderness, and laughter. Each meeting is an invitation to show up as you are — therapist, human, whole.

What to Expect

  • Each month we meet on the first Friday from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Zoom

  • The group is limited to 12 in order to allow for real connection

  • We’ll start with space for rest and embodiment practices

  • I’ll facilitate a discussion about the themes that are present that day

  • We’ll end with an invitation to engage in creativity, play, and joy

FAQs

Who is this for?

Full Presence is for fat therapists — students, licensed or associate therapists. If you identify as a small fat or larger, or plus-sized, this group is for you!

I’m offering Full Presence with a tiered pricing model:

The Community Supporter rate for each 1.5 hour group is $90, payable at registration. The Sustainer rate is $75 and the Community Supported rate is $60.

This pricing structure is designed to accommodate participants with different financial means and levels of privilege. I do not ask for any financial information or justification; I trust that clients will self-select the right rate for them.

If you can no longer attend a group that you registered for, please reschedule with 48 hours notice. With less than 48 hours notice, you will not receive a refund.

If you have questions about the group, please reach out at laurie@fiddleheadtherapy.com — I'd rather answer your questions first than have you purchase something that isn't the right fit.

What’s the financial investment?

Who are you?

I'm Laurie Gutierrez Ganberg, a white, queer, fat, neurodivergent, currently not disabled, nonbinary therapist, supervisor, educator, and community builder deeply committed to anti-oppression, fat liberation, and disability justice, both personally and professionally. I love facilitating groups and have been offering supervision groups for the last 7 years. I hold space for reflection, mutual support, and accountability — as we examine the systems that shape our work and ourselves. Supporting local fat community is important to me: I sponsored the Fat Con in Seattle in 2025 and 2026 and I’m a monthly supporter of Fat Swims.

Right now anti-fat bias is particularly loud - understandably as it’s connected to white supremacy and other oppressive systems. This group is a consistent and reliably weight inclusive and fat affirming space. And being in fat community can be joyful, nourishing, a relief, protective, and centering — allowing us also to access curiosity, questions, and learning in service of our clients. And we are more than therapists and to continue showing up in this work, we need to tend to all our parts. This group creates facilitated space for embodiment, creativity, and joy in addition to reflective, peer consultation.
